There are two types of aid available: need-based - funds awarded as a result of the Free Application
for Federal Student Assistance and merit-based - funds awarded as a result of
your academic
achievements (grades, ACT scores, athletics, extracurricular activities, etc.)
Need-Based Aid
Federal Aid
The Federal Pell Grant is a need-based award funded through the federal
government. Three factors effect your eligibility: overall family income (both taxed and untaxed),
total number of family
members in the household, and the number of people attending college.
Campus-Based Aid Programs
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant is aid in addition to
the Federal Pell Grant. The deadline date for
applying for these funds is March 1 of the award year.
The Federal College Work Study Program provides jobs to
undergraduate and graduate students, allowing you to earn money
to pay your education expenses.
The following federal student loans are also available: Federal Stafford Subsidized
