Tuition and Fees

All tuition and fees are due at the time of registration. Students who participate in pre-registration periods will be notified of due dates for payment of tuition.  Students receiving financial aid through Southern must see the financial aid counselor prior to registration.

Southern does provide a payment plan for eligible students.  Contact the Business Office for complete information on this payment plan.

Please contact the Business Office for current tuition and fees.  Tuition and fees are subject to change at any time.  Southern reserves the right to withhold all further services and registration for those who have an unpaid financial obligation.  Grades and/or transcripts may be withheld until all financial obligations are cleared.

Students enrolling in a West Virginia public institution of higher education are classified as resident or non-resident for admission, tuition, and fee purposes. In-state residence for tuition purposes requires domicile and legal residency in West Virginia prior to enrollment.  West Virginia domicile may be established upon the completion of at least twelve months of continued residence within West Virginia prior to the date of registration, provided that such twelve months residency is not primarily for the purpose of attendance at any institution of learning in West Virginia.

By interstate agreement, residents of Martin and Pike counties, Kentucky may enroll at Southern as resident students by providing appropriate documentation of established domicile within one of the designated counties.
